Road Trip: Take Plan B

Mike and I have been thinking of going in out of town vacation for weeks and finally we did it!
The initial plan was to go to Camotes Island for a 1 night stay but due to weather problems, we decided to go to Moalboal.
We did not have any plan at all. Just go ride a bus to Moalboal, an that's it.
All did not have anything else with us except our bag full of clothes, 1.5 liter of water and 2 packs of chips.

Plan B: Just go swimming somewhere in Cebu --outside the city.
This was taken somewhere in Barili, in a fast moving bus, with my phone.
I just saw the beautiful view, called Mike's attention, immediately snapped a photo and breathed it all in.
It was the best way to spend Mike's RD.
Be spontaneous. Live in the moment.

Sunny Boho

Hello Earthlings!

OOTD.

So most of my pieces for this look are thrifted. I really love thrift shopping!

Floral Coat: thrifted.
Bag: thrifted.
Gold necklace: from a flea market.
Pearl rosary bracelet: from my Mom
Brown watch: Terner. My Mom's.

Sandals: Forever21
Nail polish: OMG in Mojito (Love the name!)

Okay, you might be wondering why I posted this photo.. I could not find any photo that shows the details of the top which is thrifted as well so I just decided to post this one. So, the top is really sheer and its V is really deep so I had to wear a white tube top underneath it (Folded and Hung).

I love breezy and sunny days.

Sweet Escape

Before the semester ended, a midst all the tension brought about by the finals week, my friend Shelly and I decided to take a breather and visit Asturias. No school to think about. No stress. No boyfriends. No worries.

To get to Asturias, Cebu:
Ride a vehicle for hire or V-hire that goes straight to Asturias, just ask the driver.
Fare: P100.00
Travel Time: 3 hours via Trans-central Highway.

This route may be scary and sometimes considered dangerous, but I think this is the best route to take especially if you use your own vehicle.
Enjoy the mountains, cold fresh air and the scenery.

Shelly, Jude (Shelly's brother) and me.

Way to the beach from Shelly's rest house.

Hello beach!

I was never good at biking. :/

Hello doggy!!

On our second day, we decided to eat lunch at Wild Wild West, Balamban.
We weren't able to try the adventure rides or go fishing but we did try their food.
Honestly, I was a bit disappointed.
The place was great and the people were nice, it's just that the service was terrible. You can actually see the crew getting all rambled up. They mixed up the customers' orders and even forgot some of it. We had to keep on following up on our orders. For the food that we ordered, all most all of it was okay but for the ones I was really excited about was bland--the soup with the shrimp and lechon kawali!
Food price was okay though. They have set meals too.

The view once you arrive at the Wild Wild West Restaurant.

To get to Cebu City from Asturias:
You can either wait by the main road for a V-hire or you can ride a tricycle to Balamban terminal.
Fare: P100.00
Travel Time: 3 hours via Trans-central Highway

I can't wait to visit Asturias soon.

Not So New Stuff In My Make-Up Purse

Hey guys! It's been a real long while since I've posted something here, but I'm back now! Unfortunately, I will just be kind of updating my "What's In My Purse?" entry. I've been using other kinds of make-up lately and I would just like to say a few things about them.

First off is my Clinique Sheer Powder Blusher (Posy Blush) vs my old Fashion 21 Single Blush-On (1).

Obviously, I've been using it a lot. I love this blusher so much. It's matte and it's just the right shade for me. I use it all the time as opposed to the Fashion 21 one since it had some shimmer on and it was too much for me on an everyday look. So, I'm not sure how much this costs and I'm not sure if it really is for sale cause from what I remember, this type of packaging and in this size, I believe it's a sample. I'm not sure though. But I checked on ebay and their selling it for almost $12.00, I think. I also checked on Clinique and this kind of blusher isn't available. But I bet their other blushers are still amazing, as usual. They sell blushers for $19.00 up.

Next stop is my Godiva Lip Gloss vs my old Human Heart Nature Organic Lip Balm (Watermelon)

I know it says "lip gloss" but really, it works as a lip balm. And I got it in orange flavor since they didn't the the bubble gum one at that time. But anyway, I can't say that I really love this but I love that fact that it kind of has a mint after-feel on it. That's my favorite part. I changed my old lip balm cause I was looking for something that lightens my lip color and my sister said this works. Well, it haven't really done much on my lips and I'm still searching for other lip treatments that will do the trick. Any suggestions? But for the moment, this will do.

The last one on my list is my MAC Frost Lipstick (Colour Me Coral) vs my Estee Lauder Pure Color Long Lasting Lipstick/ Rouge (161 Pink Parfait) and Anna Sui Lip Rouge (17)

I use this lipstick as a base. I don't really wear this color alone, it's always with a pink lip gloss or I top it with another lipstick. It works great as a primer! ;) So what I do is, I put my lip balm first, then this lipstick then I top it with my favorite lip gloss; LR Cosmetics Lip Gloss (3). It gives the perfect shade that I love that is perfect for any occasion. So, MAC frost lipsticks costs $14.50, but I'm not sure how much it costs in the Philippines. Oh yea, MAC is already open here in Cebu and I'm so happy about it but sadly, I can't afford it. And, I haven't checked it out yet. There's too much hype at the moment. Maybe I'll visit once it cools down.

So, that's about it! I have more to share but I have to watch How I Met Your Mother. :)

I Love Weddings

As mentioned in my other blog, I attended the Juanillo-Consunji Nuptials on June 19, 2011 at the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral. The bride's wedding dress and the entourage's gowns were designed by Josei Ouano Cuizon who is the cousin of Ria and a friend of mine. The dress was unbelievable! It was modern but very classy. It had a very long train and an even longer headdress. It was spectacular. I think that the highlight of the dress was the train. It was heavily layered but looked really light and flowy. My personal favorite of the dress is the back. It was just beautiful. It had pearl buttons that were about half and inch big and it came from the neck down to the lower back where asymmetrical structured folds that formed a V met in the middle. It's too bad I don't have a photo of it now.

The bride's maids' and the maid of honor's dress were also designed by Josei and it was divine. It was definitely not the typical bride's maids' dress you'd imagine. The lace, electric pleats and the materials used were definitely the key in make the dresses out of the ordinary. Even the flower girls' dresses were given much attention too. They looked like cake fairies! The tiny details of the dresses could not go unnoticed. Everything was just perfect. Good thing I already told Josei that he'll design my wedding dress in the future! :)

The barongs were not by Josei though. But they were really lovely too! I especially loved the groom's barong. I loved its Chinese collar and it think that gave it a little kick.

Okay, time to meet the designer.

My New Necklace

I decided to reward myself after a week long of working out. I got myself a gold necklace!

I've been wanting one ever since but didn't have the chance to look for one. Good thing there was a dress shop near my gym and when we; my gym buddies and I decided to check it out, I found it!! The only new thing about the necklace is the chain, the pendant is vintage. I think my mom had it when she was young. I really don't know. I only got it from her purse. :p

So the gold chain is only 10K gold plated but it doesn't matter. It's so cheap! I got it for P120.00!! It's perfect for me since I always, like always wear pearl earrings. It goes so nice together. I love it. :)

Sunny Paris

Last night after working-out, my gym buddies (my cousin; Ate Kristy and my sister; Denise) and I decided to check out the night market at Colon Street. It was awesome! Two blocks were closed and all the stalls were in the middle of the street.

They sold short jeans for P85.00! The only downer is that there's no fitting room. I decided not to buy one for the moment but I'll go back there!

Anyway, the best part of the night was when we checked out the second block and found a stall full of clothes. They sold everything and I mean everything for P70.00!! Holy cow, it was crazy! Seventy pesos for a dress. Seventy pesos for a blouse. Seventy pesos for leggings/ jeggings. Seventy pesos for skirts!! But not all stocks were nice. I ended up buying two pieces. One lacey, ala Aritzia/Topshop dress and one ala Topshop high waist skirt.

This is the dress. The orange papers below it are post-its. Forgive me.:)

Dress details.

This is the ala Topshop skirt. I just tried this on and sadly, it's a bit loose. I better do something about it. Sewing skills, coming up!

Skirt details.

Oh my gosh, I have to go back there!!
Night Market ends on July 15. :)
