Not So New Stuff In My Make-Up Purse

Hey guys! It's been a real long while since I've posted something here, but I'm back now! Unfortunately, I will just be kind of updating my "What's In My Purse?" entry. I've been using other kinds of make-up lately and I would just like to say a few things about them.

First off is my Clinique Sheer Powder Blusher (Posy Blush) vs my old Fashion 21 Single Blush-On (1).

Obviously, I've been using it a lot. I love this blusher so much. It's matte and it's just the right shade for me. I use it all the time as opposed to the Fashion 21 one since it had some shimmer on and it was too much for me on an everyday look. So, I'm not sure how much this costs and I'm not sure if it really is for sale cause from what I remember, this type of packaging and in this size, I believe it's a sample. I'm not sure though. But I checked on ebay and their selling it for almost $12.00, I think. I also checked on Clinique and this kind of blusher isn't available. But I bet their other blushers are still amazing, as usual. They sell blushers for $19.00 up.

Next stop is my Godiva Lip Gloss vs my old Human Heart Nature Organic Lip Balm (Watermelon)

I know it says "lip gloss" but really, it works as a lip balm. And I got it in orange flavor since they didn't the the bubble gum one at that time. But anyway, I can't say that I really love this but I love that fact that it kind of has a mint after-feel on it. That's my favorite part. I changed my old lip balm cause I was looking for something that lightens my lip color and my sister said this works. Well, it haven't really done much on my lips and I'm still searching for other lip treatments that will do the trick. Any suggestions? But for the moment, this will do.

The last one on my list is my MAC Frost Lipstick (Colour Me Coral) vs my Estee Lauder Pure Color Long Lasting Lipstick/ Rouge (161 Pink Parfait) and Anna Sui Lip Rouge (17)

I use this lipstick as a base. I don't really wear this color alone, it's always with a pink lip gloss or I top it with another lipstick. It works great as a primer! ;) So what I do is, I put my lip balm first, then this lipstick then I top it with my favorite lip gloss; LR Cosmetics Lip Gloss (3). It gives the perfect shade that I love that is perfect for any occasion. So, MAC frost lipsticks costs $14.50, but I'm not sure how much it costs in the Philippines. Oh yea, MAC is already open here in Cebu and I'm so happy about it but sadly, I can't afford it. And, I haven't checked it out yet. There's too much hype at the moment. Maybe I'll visit once it cools down.

So, that's about it! I have more to share but I have to watch How I Met Your Mother. :)

I Love Weddings

As mentioned in my other blog, I attended the Juanillo-Consunji Nuptials on June 19, 2011 at the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral. The bride's wedding dress and the entourage's gowns were designed by Josei Ouano Cuizon who is the cousin of Ria and a friend of mine. The dress was unbelievable! It was modern but very classy. It had a very long train and an even longer headdress. It was spectacular. I think that the highlight of the dress was the train. It was heavily layered but looked really light and flowy. My personal favorite of the dress is the back. It was just beautiful. It had pearl buttons that were about half and inch big and it came from the neck down to the lower back where asymmetrical structured folds that formed a V met in the middle. It's too bad I don't have a photo of it now.

The bride's maids' and the maid of honor's dress were also designed by Josei and it was divine. It was definitely not the typical bride's maids' dress you'd imagine. The lace, electric pleats and the materials used were definitely the key in make the dresses out of the ordinary. Even the flower girls' dresses were given much attention too. They looked like cake fairies! The tiny details of the dresses could not go unnoticed. Everything was just perfect. Good thing I already told Josei that he'll design my wedding dress in the future! :)

The barongs were not by Josei though. But they were really lovely too! I especially loved the groom's barong. I loved its Chinese collar and it think that gave it a little kick.

Okay, time to meet the designer.

My New Necklace

I decided to reward myself after a week long of working out. I got myself a gold necklace!

I've been wanting one ever since but didn't have the chance to look for one. Good thing there was a dress shop near my gym and when we; my gym buddies and I decided to check it out, I found it!! The only new thing about the necklace is the chain, the pendant is vintage. I think my mom had it when she was young. I really don't know. I only got it from her purse. :p

So the gold chain is only 10K gold plated but it doesn't matter. It's so cheap! I got it for P120.00!! It's perfect for me since I always, like always wear pearl earrings. It goes so nice together. I love it. :)

Sunny Paris

Last night after working-out, my gym buddies (my cousin; Ate Kristy and my sister; Denise) and I decided to check out the night market at Colon Street. It was awesome! Two blocks were closed and all the stalls were in the middle of the street.

They sold short jeans for P85.00! The only downer is that there's no fitting room. I decided not to buy one for the moment but I'll go back there!

Anyway, the best part of the night was when we checked out the second block and found a stall full of clothes. They sold everything and I mean everything for P70.00!! Holy cow, it was crazy! Seventy pesos for a dress. Seventy pesos for a blouse. Seventy pesos for leggings/ jeggings. Seventy pesos for skirts!! But not all stocks were nice. I ended up buying two pieces. One lacey, ala Aritzia/Topshop dress and one ala Topshop high waist skirt.

This is the dress. The orange papers below it are post-its. Forgive me.:)

Dress details.

This is the ala Topshop skirt. I just tried this on and sadly, it's a bit loose. I better do something about it. Sewing skills, coming up!

Skirt details.

Oh my gosh, I have to go back there!!
Night Market ends on July 15. :)

Clinique Facial Skin Care

Today I'm going to share with you a part of my skin care routine. I decided to talk about this today since I've been really loving this product and it's been working wonders on my skin. I'm talking about the Clinique 3-Step Skin care system.

I first heard about this from my Mom. She used the toner; alone and she said it worked wonders on her skin. I saw the moisturizer bottle lying around the house and I never bothered to ask what it was. Anyway, my Auntie Joy each gave my sisters and I a box of the Clinique 3-Step Skin and since I really didn't have any other "serious" skin routine, I decided to try it out.

Okay, so I have combination skin/ Type 2 -- I have an oily T-zone (nose, chin and forehead) and my cheeks, skin around the eyes and mouth is usually normal or dry.

Inside the box, there are 3 bottles/ tubes. I'll tell you about them one by one.

Liquid facial soap (mild), Clarifying lotion, Dramatically different moisturizing lotion.

Step 1: Liquid facial soap (mild)

This is a gel-like facial wash. I find it really saturated so I use a teenie tiny bit. Pea size or less goes a long way so that's a good thing. This facial wash does not dry the skin at all. It leaves my skin really soft and kind of moisturized.

Step 2: Clarifying lotion

I just love this toner! It's absolutely amazing. Although it kind a stings, it doesn't leave my skin dry. It is incredible. My Aunt said whenever she gets pimples, what she does is, she puts clindamycin into the toner and applies it on her face. The following day, the pimple is healed. I already tried doing that but it wasn't with the Clinique toner but it still works. :)

Step 3: Dramatically different moisturizing lotion.

This stuff is great. It gives the right amount of moist my face needs and you don't need to apply much on. :)

I read reviews on the Clinique 3-Step Skin and everyone gave thumbs up on this. I do too. I just started using this two to three weeks ago; twice a day and it already made my skin better. My skin always feels fresh and clean. My pimples and pimple spots are clearing... It's just perfect. I give it 5/5. Love love love.

I Was A Bride's Maid

Indeed I was. It was for my Dad's sister, Auntie Joy's wedding. It was held on May 7, 2011 in Canon Cove, Batangas.
It was a beautiful and very intimate wedding.

The bride's maids' dresses were pick by the bride's maids themselves. It's either we buy the dresses or have them tailor made. In our case; my sisters and I, we designed our dresses then had them sewn.

Find out more about the wedding here. :)

Inside my Everyday Make-Up Purse Part 3

This is Part 3; the last part of my "Inside my Everyday Make-Up Purse".

Roll Call:

20.) Fashion 21 White Eyeliner

This white eyeliner is average. Thing is, it doesn't mark on my waterline darkly. It takes a few strokes to finish the job but it's fine. It has a foam tip which is really helpful and it's really cheap too. This costs P88.00.

21.) Estee Lauder Artist's Eye Pencil (01 Softsmudge Black)

This eyeliner is rated 4.5 out of 5 stars and I totally agree. I love it. It applies easily and smoothly wherever. I just don't know why I don't have the smudger but it's fine. This costs $19.00.

22.) MAC Brow Brush and Comb

I had this brush for like two years. As you can see, the comb part is gone. Haha I don't know how much this costs and I can't find it on MAC. The brush is good though. The bristles are not too hard/rough and it's not too soft.

I guess that's it! Maybe you got a few tips or ideas from here. Thanks for reading! ^_^

Inside my Everyday Make-Up Purse Part 2

This is Part 2 of my "Inside my Everyday Make-Up Purse"

Roll Call Part 2:

9.) Human Heart Nature Organic Lip Balm (Watermelon)

Human Heart Nature is a Philippine brand. All their products are organic and all the ingredients and materials used are from the Philippines. I really support this brand not only because it's from the Philippines but also because they provide livelihood to the less privileged Filipinos. They also take "serious responsibility of being nature’s stewards". This lip balm only costs P59.75! Learn more about them in humanheartnature.com.

10.) Bench Antibacterial Hand Sanitizer (Alcogel Aromatherpy)

This sanitizer smells soooo good! It's Jasmine Blossom scented. It has chamomile extract and it moisturizes too. I can't stop smelling my hands whenever I use this. It costs P36.00.

11.) MAC Select Sheer/ Loose Powder (NW 15)

I just started using this powder and I usually use this for touch-ups. It's great! It gives a matte but glowy finish and looks like you don't have anything on. You should try this. It costs US$23.00. BTW, this came with the Nail Lacquer and I mentioned previously. My Aunt got this with other stuff for C$5.00!

12.) Estee Lauder Pure Color Long Lasting Lipstick/ Rouge (161 Pink Parfait)

This is my everyday lipstick. My Mommy Bebot gave this. I just checked out Estee Lauder's site and saw that they have a new "packaging" and it's so much better. This lipstick has a shimmer finish and it's very light. Suuuper light -- it's sheer. So what I do is, I put my lip balm on, then my lip gloss then this. It's so weird. But it looks spectacular! This costs $24.00.

13.) Anna Sui Lip Rouge (17)

This is my favorite part of the lipstick!

My friend Noyl got me this as a Christmas present. I love it! I really don't know from which collection this is from but it doesn't make me love it less. I has a matte finish and the color is just striking! I love using this on night outs, whenever I have very little make-up on or whenever I get the urge to put on a bold lip color. Check Anna Sui's site. It's so fun.

14.) La Senza Fragrant Body Splash (Heart Song)

LA Senza's Heart Song smells just like Victoria's Secret's Love Spell. This scent my be too strong at first and I admit I sneeze almost every time I put this on but after a while, the scent becomes mild and it lasts the whole day. I only tried this scent and their Heavenly Love (vanilla) and I love both! BTW, I only bring the smaller bottle. The original bottle's too heavy for me to bring. La Senza's Body Mist costs $9.50.

15.) Garnier Skins Natural Light Whitening Face Powder (02 Natural)

Mine's got white eyeline stick in it. XD

This is the only face powder that I use. I doesn't irritate my skin and it matches my skin tone perfectly. Another thing is that it doesn't give me oily skin right away. It has vitamin C and SPF 18 and it smells really good! This costs P199.00.

16.) LR Cosmetics Liquid Eyeliner (10005-1 Absolute Black)

I like this liquid eyeliner since it drys fast and it gives off a matte finish. It's really black and it lasts the whole day. This costs P569.00

17.) LR Cosmetics Lip Gloss (3)

I love this lipgloss! It's the perfect color for me. Not too dark and not too light. It glides on my lips smoothly! I use this everyday! I don't know how much this costs but it's definitely below P500.00.

18.) e.l.f. Total Face Brush

Find out more about this brush (I already talked about this) here. :)

19.) e.l.f All Over Cover Stick (Honey 3202)

Find out more about this concealer (I already talked about this) here. :)

See you in Part 3 ^_^
